My Dashboards
Dashboards are accessed from the My
Dashboards option of My Learner.
Learner provides multiple tabs for dashboard “widgets”.
Available Widgets
In the “View” drop-down, select “Choose Widgets”.
On the right hand side of the page you will see the “Catalog” of widgets.
There are two widget classifications:
- Student Widgets
- Supervisor Widgets
Student Widgets
This type of widget shows only data related to the user, as a student.
- My
Schedule - Displays a calendar view of sessions the student
is currently enrolled to attend.
- To
Do List - Displays last 5 courses (that were started) that
have lessons to be completed and a More...
link to the student's full "In-Progress Training" page.
- My
In-Progress Training - Displays pending Learners actions that
can be taken, such as Approvals, Advisor Surveys, Development Plan
Items Due, etc.
- Blogs
I Read - Shows the number of blogs, organized by associated
skill, that you have read during the month. Note:
This widget may not be available
depending on system configuration.
Supervisor Widgets
This type of widget shows aggregated data for students that you supervise.
You must have “Can Report” authority as the supervisor in VTA in
order to have the student included on your dashboard.
- Student
Completions By Month - Shows training courses completed
by students you supervisor by month.
- Training
Hours For Year - Shows the total number of training hours
completed by students you supervise over the course of the year. Includes
the previous year for comparison.
- Average
Training Hours Per Student - Shows
the average number of training hours completed by students you supervise
by month, quarter or year. Includes previous year for comparison.
- Training
Charges - Shows the training "charge backs"
incurred by your students by month, quarter or year. Includes
previous year for comparison.
- In-Progress
Aging - Shows the training that is "in-progress"
for your students by duration it has been in-progress.
Add Widgets
You may have up to 4 widgets per page.
- Check the box next to the desired
widget.
- Select either the Left or Right column
from the “Add To” list.
- Click the Add
button.
Arrange Widgets
You can re-arrange your widgets by choosing "Edit Layout"
from the "View" drop-down list.
Click Apply to save your changes.
If you are using Microsoft Internet
Explorer, you can simply drag and drop widgets to position them.
If you are not using Internet Explorer,
you can still re-arrange widgets. To do so, while in the "Edit
Layout" view:
- Click the "Edit" link in
the header of the widget
- In the Layout section, you can then
enter the column and index (0 is top widget in a column) to move the
widget.
Change Widget Appearance
You can change the Title and
the border style of your widgets.
To do so, while in the "Edit Layout: view:
- Click the "Edit" link in
the widget header on the widget you wish to change.
- In the "Appearance" section,
you can change the widget Title and the border style.
- Click the Apply
button at the bottom of the "Edit Layout" window to save
your changes.
Tabs
Each widget may appear on a tab only once; but you can use the same
widget on more than one tab.
You can apply custom names to your tabs. In either “Choose Widgets”
or “Edit Layout” view mode, type the desired name for the tab in the Change Tab Name box and click Apply.
View Widgets
To display your widgets, change the "View" drop-down to “Normal”.
Drill Down
Some widgets have a "drill-down" capability. When this
is available, the y-axis will have a label saying "Click xxx for
details", where "xxx" is the name of the item to click.
