Virtual Training Assistantâ„¢ Online Help
VTA Learner is a web application that provides access to your training records.
The pages, images or labels used throughout this VTA Learner Online Help system may vary from your actual system. Some options may be turned off, configured or styled according to your organization's needs.

There are three ways to navigate the VTA Learner system:
There are five major roles, or types of access, that control the actions you can do:
Instructor (Internal only)
You may have multiple roles. Any Student can be set up as a Supervisor , an Instructor, a Course Custodian or a Competency Assessor. Once you are given additional roles, they will provide you access to the additional features.
Your system administrator may create additional controls which may restrict your access to Learner pages or features.
As a Student, you can:
View your My Plan page of training Requirements
Start online training
Search the training Schedule, enroll into Class Sessions, cancel enrollment and/or take pre-class online Lessons
Continue training that is in-progress
View your training History, including reviewing previously viewed training-related documents associated to the sessions
Add, edit and view items on your Wishlist
Update your Emergency Contact information
Complete VTA Advisor Surveys (if they are setup to be taken by the Student)
Complete a self-assessment for Competencies associated to your Profile Groups
Enter External Training records (if the system is setup to allow Students to enter their owns records)
Retrieve messages sent to your VTA Learner My Mail box (if feature is on)
Search the Course Catalog
Run the following reports:
Student Detail
Training Summary Report
Schedule Report
Status Report
Complete Surveys (generic)
Change your VTA Learner password
Send a message to a System Administrator via the Contact Us link
View this VTA Learner Online Help system
Supervisors can access all the same areas as a Student for their own records.
In addition, they can also do the following for Students in the Student Group they are assigned to supervise:
View the Student's training that is in-progress
Enroll the Student into Scheduled Class Sessions and/or cancel enrollment
View the Student's Learning Plan of training Requirements
View the Student's training History
Add, edit and view items on Students' Wishlists
Complete an assessment for Competencies associated to your Students
Update Students' Emergency Contact information
Run the following reports:
Student Detail
Training Summary Report
Schedule Report
Exception Report
Status Report
Status Graph
Status Matrix
Attendance Report
Non-Attendance Report
Reset Student Passwords
Add new or edit existing Student Profiles (if feature is turned on)
Assessors can access all the same areas as a Student for their own records.
If they are setup as a Supervisor, they can also do the same functions listed above for Supervisors.
In addition, if they have students with Competencies assigned that they can assess, or if they are set as a Named Assessor for the Competency, then they can:
Start, continue and/or Commit an Assessment for their people (if any Supervisor can assess the Competency).
Start, continue and/or Commit an Assessment for Competencies (if they are one of a select list of people who can assess the specific Competency).
Create and manage a Personal Development Plan in either scenario.
Instructors can access all the same areas as a Student for their own records.
If they are setup as a Supervisor, they can also do the same functions listed above for Supervisors.
In addition, they can do the following for Classes they are scheduled to teach (set as the Instructor of a Schedule Class Session):
View the Roster
Send Email messages to Students on the Roster
Change the Status of the Scheduled Class Session
Move a Scheduled Class Session to History, including updating each Student's enrollment Status and enter Grades and/or Scores
Run the following Reports:
Schedule Sessions Reports (lists the classes they are scheduled to teach)
Roster Report (includes all Students on the Roster)
Sign-in Sheet Report (includes only Students on the Roster with a Status of "Attend")
Custodians can access all the same areas as a Student for their own records.
If they are setup as a Supervisor, they can also do the same functions listed above for Supervisors.
In addition, they can update the following for Course records they are set as the Custodian for:

Next Review Date
