Overview

The Site Map provides links, in an outline view, for the entire VTA Learner system.

You can click a link to access the page or hover it to view a brief description.

As the user hovers the item within the Site Map outline below, a brief description for "My Plan" appears.

If you do not have access to a page, the link will be inactive.

In the Roles section below of the Site Map, you can see that the person only has access to the "Assessor" page, but not "Instructor" or "Custodian".

VTA Learner Site Map Descriptions

Your System Administrator may have turned off, restricted or re-labeled some options listed on the Site Map.  In addition, the colors shown here are based on the default configuration of VTA Learner.  You System Administrator may have chosen a different color scheme.

Home

  • Used to display news and announcements for your organization.

  • This is designed and managed by the System Administrator.

Current Training

 

These pages connect you to training that is:

  • Assigned as required (for compliance)

  • Offered (for development)

  • Scheduled (for classroom attendance)

  • Started (and awaits completion)

 

My Plan

  • Current training requirements assigned to the student by Individual, Job Title or Team groups.

  • Starting point for assigned online training.

  • Includes links to the Schedule for classroom training assignments.

  • Student can cancel enrollment from this view.

  • Grid includes filters and group options to help student quickly find training.

 

Scheduled Training

  • Lists classroom training events that the student is currently enrolled to attend.

  • Student can cancel enrollment from this view.

 

In-Progress Training

  • Lists training that was started, but not completed, including online training or classroom training that has post-class lessons to complete (Tests, Evaluations or Checklists).

 

My Programs

  • Courses and links students can use to help their development, such as training for higher level of technician, working towards management or acquiring a new skill.

  • Training is currently associated, but is not required (by VTA) to be completed by a specific date.

Developmental

 

These pages connect you to resources that help in student development:

  • Competency assessment (on self or others) to identify proficiency gaps.

  • Development plans to help students close those gaps.

  • Blog articles or people that matter to you.

  • Courses you want to be notified about (when scheduled).

  • Training needs assessments.

  • Surveys that can assign training according to response.

 

My Development Plan

  • Courses, Tasks or Resources to work on that will help close Proficiency Level gaps found by a Competency Assessor.

 

My Competencies

  • Allows students to view and self-assess their Proficiency Level for associated Competencies.

 

Blogs I Follow

  • Blogs of authors, or for Skills, that the student has selected the “Follow” option on.

 

People

  • Search for people within the organization to view their Biography, Skills Endorsements, Team Members and/or Blogs.

 

My Wishlist

  • Courses the student has flagged to be notified about when they are added to the schedule.

 

My Managed Teams

  • The student’s Current and/or Draft view of Risk Level for various topics.

  • The Draft column is only displayed when a supervisor has created one.

 

My Advisor

  • Surveys that can add or remove training requirements according to student response.

  • Survey has branching logic allowing participants to skip questions according to response.

  • Surveys completed by Students can be set to immediately take action (update Training Plans) or first require supervisory approval.

 

Class Schedule

  • View the entire schedule of classroom events by Calendar or List view.

  • Self-enroll into classroom training.

  • Supervisors can group enroll their people into sessions.

  • Student will receive:

  • On-screen confirmation

  • Email confirmation

  • Up to 2 attendance reminder notifications

History

 

These pages connect you to things you achieved.

 

My History

  • View all completed training, including the ability to view documents.

Note: Tests and Evaluations cannot be re-taken once complete.

 

My Documents

  • View all Individual or Class Documents (Schedule or History) associated to the student, such as completion certificates files.

 

External Training

  • View or update records related to training not in the VTA catalog, such as conferences.

Note: External training does not satisfy Requirements, Program Elements or Personal Development Plan items.

Personal

  • Shows students who did complete training for a specified list of courses, regardless if it’s required, within a date range.
  • Requirement Exception Report
  • Shows students with overdue training.
  • Requirement Status Matrix Report
  • For the selected students, a matrix view of all required training and their status as “Compliant”, “Overdue” or “Coming Due”.
  • Requirement Status Graph
  • Shows compliance status rate for each student.
  • Team Management Group Current Period Status Report
  • Assessment completion status for participants in the Team Management feature.
  • Instructor Reports (Used by Schedule and History Class Instructors):
  • Sign-in Sheets
  • Lists only those students set to attend.
  • Rosters
  • Shows everyone on the Class Roster, including Cancels, Excused, No Shows, etc.

  • Courses (searches Course Code, Title, Description, Objective, Outline and Target Audience)

  • People (search by First or Last Name, filter by Skills)

  • Resources (search by Name)

Supervisor

 

These pages connect Supervisors to tools they can use to help manage records for their people.

 

My Approvals

  • Allows Primary Supervisors to approve (or deny) classroom enrollment or online training requests.

 

My Team Manager

  • Allows Primary Supervisors to rate students on Risk Level and associate Student Preferred Language.

  • Approved submissions then assigns training, as needed, in the student's preferred language.

 

Reset Student Passwords

  • Allows Supervisors to force student password reset upon their next logon.

 

Add Student Profiles

  • Allows Supervisors to add new students to VTA.

 

My Delegates

  • Allows Primary Supervisors to pass their Approval or Team Management rights to another individual for a set date range.

 

Student Contact Info

  • Gives Supervisors a read-only view of Emergency Contact Information for students who report to them.

Roles

 

These pages connect people given additional roles to perform.

 

Instructor

  • Used by Schedule or History Class Instructors to:

  • View their Rosters

  • Print a list of their Scheduled events

  • Email Students

  • Change the Class Status (open, close or limit enrollment or cancel the session)

  • Confirm Schedule Class attendance and move the session to History (giving students credit)

 

Assessor

  • Used by Competency Named Assessors to submit competency assessments and/or create Personal Development Plans to help students close proficiency gaps.

 

Custodian

  • Used by Course Custodians to update the following about their Course(s):

  • Credit Hours

  • Next Review Date

  • Description/Outline/Objectives/Target Audience

 

Contact Us

  • Provides contact information for your System Administrator.

Some systems may be configured to offer a Comment box instead of an email address link.

 

Help

  • Launches this Virtual Training Assistant™ Online Help system.

 

Logoff

  • Logs you out of your VTA Learner session.

  • You will be re-directed to a page chosen by your System Administrator.
